Advice Needed

We were at the Home Renovation Fair in SACC last weekend to find out more about interior designs and to know the price range of whatever that is needed for our new home. After a two short hours we managed to collect a few brochures, exchanged numbers and got a rough idea on what to do with our upcoming house. We didnt reach a buying decision as we wont be moving in until after 4-5 months. Another valid reason is due to lack of research on my part as i have not been actively making price and value comparison.

My house is a 20 x 80 double storey terrace. It's new, so every part of the house has to be furnished from scratch. So i came up with a budget list - after my visit to the reno fair - I had to have a rough idea how much each part of my house will potentially cost me.

Lights & fans & wirings 3500
TV cabinet 1500
Sofa 5000 (hubby wants leather, i don't mind cushion but it has to be 100% leather if its leather)
Dining 3500
Shoe Rack 800
Mirror 2500 (at the dining area)
Kitchen cabinet 20 000
Living area shelf 2000 (at the staircase, has to be nice as it will be reflected on the mirror at the dining)
Upstairs living shelf 6000 (for hubby's library of books)
Bedframe 3000 (budget set aside for this, but we can go without a bedframe)
Mattress 4500
Internal & External filter 5000
Master bedroom wardrobe 3000
TV 1500 (or the cheapest 42" available) (we are not particular on the quality of TV. they all look pretty much the same to me. it just has to look pretty)
Washing machine 2000
Fridge 3500 (with inverter technology, apart from this it only has to be pretty)
Kitchen hob, hood, oven 4000 (Theres Bosch, Electrolux, Elba, Lebenstill etc etc etc so many to choose from!! i personally like Electrolux - purely because of the branding but for the budget that ive set, gonna have to cross this out)

The total amount is rm71 300 *gasp*

BUT!

Fil said that he's going to sponsor some stuffs, and mil is going to sponsor my fridge. there's also my mum n sis (who wont be contributing much i suppose haha)

And i haven't included grills, renovation at the wet kitchen, altering the toilet upstairs etc! The ones listed are big items - i havent included coffee tables (800), carpets (1000), rugs (dont wana clean feet with used shirts wtf)

But i know what they say, 'Dont wear a hat bigger than your head'.

So im going to have a little discussion with hubby to see which item i dun mind less to compromise on.

p/s: This blog has not been announced yet so this is for the sole purpose of my own record.

Welcome to me!

I've decided to start this blog after bringing my old blog to a closure, to share my thoughts on being a mother of two, living in a hectic city, having a day job and my own business to run. I may not be blogging as often as I wish, but at least I will try.
Not wanting to bore you with details about myself, here are some pictures of my little family.

They are my girls. My source of motivation and demotivation. They are the reason I'm working so hard but they constantly pull me back from going out to do what I should be doing. So ya, they create a dilemma in me, these two rascals.

So much for my first blogpost! I'll write more when I have to mood to, provided I'm free.

Love,
The Writer.
